Panel Discussion on the Women & Political Participation

The GenderLab team took part in the 2nd panel discussion of the 8th international conference on August 24th at Bangkok, organized by the International Development Research Centre (IDRC/CRDI). The panel discussed the topic of “Women & Political Participation” and featured speakers Saumya Surbhi, who works as the Youth Environmental Human Rights Defenders Protection Coordinator with UNDP Bangkok Regional Hub; Viyanga Gunasekera, a PhD candidate at the School of Regulation and Global Governance, College of Asia and the Pacific, Australian National University, and a social science researcher at the International Centre for Ethnic Studies, Sri Lanka; and Dr. Philippe Doneys, an associate professor in Gender and Development Studies at the Asian Institute of Technology. The discussion was moderated by Kundan Mishra, Senior Program Officer in the Democratic and Inclusive Governance team at IDRC, Canada.
