a space for faculty, students, and civil society

Gender Lab

GenderLab is a space for faculty, students, and civil society to engage, learn, discuss, and deliberate on topics around gender equality, justice, and federalism, but not limited to a narrow sense of federalism. It would also encompass issues of human rights, peace, and security; gender and equality; transitional justice; democracy; citizenship; democratic culture; political participation; ethnicity; migration; economic development from a gender perspective. These discussions are expected to lead to gender-sensitive policy and constitutional development in Myanmar.

It intends to provide information as well as engage civil society players and academia from inside and outside of Myanmar
  • To improve gender equality and democratic justice knowledge and skills among Myanmar’s CSOs and academia;
  • To exchange, and share knowledge and experiences both academic views and practical perspectives with relevant academic institutions including the neighboring country;
  • To acquire knowledge and information on a series of capacity development programs through the website;
  • To provide a space for bridging theoretical and practical perspectives in order to enhance the application on the ground;
  • To provide a search engine for the wider community on gender, democracy, and development related to Myanmar.
