Dr. Marcus Brand, Head of Programme of the International Institute for Democracy and Electoral Assistance (International IDEA) in Myanmar provided an overview of Myanmar\u2019s current political landscape and transitional constitutional process. The discussion highlighted the benefits of a decentralized federal government and the need to establish accountability mechanisms, a women\u2019s commission, and a functional judiciary. It was mentioned that having a constitutional guarantee to achieve gender equality throughout the country is essential.
